Who We Are

KEC-A Village of Hope, Inc. (KEC-AVOH) is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization based in the United States whose mission is to support the Kaguma Education Centre (KEC), located about 25 km from the city of Fort Portal, Uganda. KEC-AVOH achieves its mission by:

  • Empowering teachers and students through the expansion of grade levels within the Kaguma Education Centre,

  • Cultivating sustainability skills of teachers and staff through education, training, and coaching,

  • Securing and allocating funding to support sustainability needs, such as income generating agricultural endeavors, education materials, school activities, and hygiene education.

US Board of Directors

The volunteer United States Board of Directors governs the KEC-A Village of Hope, Inc. (KEC-AVOH) 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Members of the board are responsible for overseeing the organization’s activities by meeting periodically to discuss and vote on strategic and tactical initiatives to support the Kaguma Education Centre’s goal of becoming self-sufficient.

The gray crowned crane is the national bird of Uganda.

Uganda Board of Directors

The volunteer Uganda Board of Directors is responsible for managing the Kaguma Education Centre and ensuring that members of the board meet periodically to discuss and vote on strategic and tactical initiatives to achieve self-sustainability.

Teachers and Staff

Kaguma Education Centre (KEC) employs teachers and staff and partners with community members to ensure that the school is staffed appropriately to support the needs of the students that attend KEC.
