Our ultimate goal is to help the Kaguma Education Centre become self-sufficient.

Programs offer focused support to the Kaguma Education Centre.

The School

The Kaguma Education Center started with a nursery school and grades 1-3 (P1-P3). In 2023, KEC-AVOH achieved the goal of adding a P7 grade level and classroom. The addition of the P7 grade level completes the requirements for a traditional primary school (P1-P7), enabling students to complete their primary school education.
When KEC-AVOH began working with the school, enrollment was 167 students (Nursery-P3). Today, enrollment (Nursery-P7) ranges between 250-350 students.
We provide a private school education for all students regardless of socioeconomic status and seek to reduce inequality and assist children with special needs.
In 2021, KEC-AVOH purchased over seven acres of land to be used for a new school and community center. A fundraising campaign will be initiated to build the new school in the near future.
With the planned expansion of the school, funding is critically important. Teachers will need to be hired to meet student demand and classrooms must be outfitted with desks and chairs, table and shelves and educational materials. Additionally, sanitation facilities, unforms, sports equipment and food will be needed.

Uniforms & Sports Gear

Wearing a uniform brings a sense of pride and confidence to every student. It is a KEC-AVOH goal that each student possesses at least one uniform.
KEC-AVOH wants to encourage sports for students attending KEC. In 2021, KEC-AVOH received a generous donation that enabled KEC to achieve its football (soccer) goals. Additionally, KEC-AVOH purchased practice bibs and additional sports equipment.
In the future, KEC-AVOH wants to provide each student with an exercise uniform and sports equipment, so students can learn new skills and have fun.

Textbooks & Library Books

KEC-AVOH started with one set of textbooks for each classroom, with the teacher using them to create lesson plans. Imagine the extra efforts required by teachers to teach students who do not have books. KEC-AVOH's first goal was to provide a set of books for every two students, which was achieved in 2021.
KEC-AVOH has purchased a number of books for our library of the future. A library will afford our students a welcoming place to check-out and read books. Encouraging students to read will provide opportunities to learn and be curious; reading fosters creative and critical thinking and can be fun.

Sponsorship & Partnership

KEC-AVOH aims to provide sponsorships for our students to cover tuition and school operating costs.
We seek sponsors who want to provide resources to help the children in our school and the Kaguma community.
Individual and corporate sponsors are needed to assist us in reaching our educational and community goals.
In 2022, KEC-AVOH partnered with the non-profit organization Run4Water to conduct a water assessment of the area. Run4Water established a fully operational drinking well for the Kaguma community in June 2023.
